• Established sites should be sprayed with “Round up” to eradicate all existing weeds if new instant lawns are to be planted.
• Ensure imported topsoils are clean. While this may seem difficult, use a reputable soil supplier.
• Select the best instant turf variety that grows well in your area. Have a walk around the neighbourhood and see if you can see what is growing well with minimal inputs.
• Maintain a healthy lawn, over care can be as detrimental as under care. Balance is the key. Fertiliser, Watering, Aeration etc
• Removal of weeds by a two prong weeder on a regular basis is also a great way of reducing the need to apply chemicals.

If weeds are still a problem, select the chemical that will eradicate the weed, follow the instructions on the container and apply when the weeds are actively growing.
