Sir Walter Buffalowas developed in Australia for Australian conditions. It has a broad leaf appearance but unlike the original buffalo's, it is soft to touch and is not itchy. It's growth habit is slow which means less mowing and it maintains a deep green colour from mid spring to late autumn.

Where is Sir Walter Buffalo best Installed?
Sir Walter Buffalo is adaptable to most conditions but prefers a well drained site. It can be grown in full sun or lightly shaded areas and is resistant to most fungal diseases.

Other important notes
- Sir Walter Buffalo has a dormancy period in Melbourne's climate for approximately 12 weeks.
- During this dormancy period it will lose colour and look grey in appearance.
- Sir Walter Buffalo cannot be grown by seed or sprigs/stolens.
- This grass has a slow to medium growth rate with most of the growth moving across the surface of the soil. This makes the runners easy to either lift up from garden beds and paved areas or whipper snip the edges.
- Sir Walter Buffalo tolerates moderate wear in Victoria.
- The ideal soil pH level is 5.5 - 6.5.
- Prior to applying chemicals to Sir Walter Buffalo the label should be carefully read and understood.
