Project Manager

Position reports to: Construction Manager
Supervises: Field staff and sub-contractors
Location: Based at 560 McGregor Rd – Travel to various sites

Role Purpose:
The Project Manager works closely with both the projects and operations teams to ensure high quality outcomes of various projects, through extensive planning, setting quality and performance standards, and assessing risks. Through this, the Project Manager ensures a safe working environment by promoting and complying with relevant regulations, meeting Evergreen’s objectives of continuous improvement, and therefore ensuring customer satisfaction. 

Delivering projects safely, on time and on budget.

Health, Safety & Environment:
The Project Manager must adhere to the OHS & E practices that Evergreen Turf has in place, and to actively seek to improve these practices.

Duties and Attributes:

  • Lead the HSEQ management, reporting and deployment of ISO accredited systems on allocated projects. 

  • Provide project management services including monitoring and managing of budgets, project time frames, variations, ITPs, and contractors.

  • Documentation and record-keeping on an individual project basis.

  • Provide customer service and management to existing client contracts to ensure contract guidelines are met.

  • Identification of new opportunities for Evergreen Turf Group.

  • General management of contractors, procurement, and sequencing throughout the construction of large-scale sports field establishments and associated infrastructure.

  • Best Management Practices- to adhere to and actively participate in the company’s policies of best management practice through a systematic approach of using checklists and ‘opportunity for improvement’ techniques.

Key Selection Criteria:

Technical Expertise:

  • Project Management qualifications or extensive experience.

  • Experience in civil construction management is a definite advantage.

  • Well-developed computer literacy.

  • Satisfactory knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.

  • Understanding the importance of maintaining accurate records.

  • Must obtain a valid driver’s licence, white card, first aid certification, and machine tickets of competency are preferable.

  • Service Excellence- Undertakes work efficiently, focusing on client satisfaction and maintaining service quality to internal and external stakeholders.

  • Written & Verbal Communication- Quality standard of clear communication that is suitably tailored to communication with a wide rang of groups.

  • Problem Solving- Able to solve problems based on operational knowledge and experience. Finding useful information, identifying underlying causes, and suggesting alternative actions.

  • Organising & Planning- Plans and reviews daily work, as well as being flexible in meeting unforeseen circumstances while continuing to meet expectations.
